1 Samuel 3:2
NIV:  One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place.
NAS:  It happened at that time as Eli was lying down in his place (now his eyesight had begun to grow dim and he could not see well),
KJV:  And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;
GWT:  One night Eli was lying down in his room. His eyesight had begun to fail so that he couldn't see well.
ASV:  And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place (now his eyes had begun to wax dim, so that he could not see),
BBE:  And at that time, when Eli was resting in his place, (now his eyes were becoming clouded so that he was not able to see,)
