NIV:  and Absalom, whom we anointed to rule over us, has died in battle. So why do you say nothing about bringing the king back?"
NAS:  "However, Absalom, whom we anointed over us, has died in battle. Now then, why are you silent about bringing the king back?"
KJV:  And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?
GWT:  However, Absalom, whom we anointed to rule us, has died in battle. Why is no one talking about bringing back the king?"
ASV:  And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?
