Acts 17:3
NIV:  explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead. "This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah," he said.
NAS:  explaining and giving evidence that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ."
KJV:  Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
GWT:  He explained and showed them that the Messiah had to suffer, die, and come back to life, and that Jesus, the person he talked about, was this Messiah.
ASV:  opening and alleging that it behooved the Christ to suffer, and to rise again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom,'said he, I proclaim unto you, is the Christ.
