NIV:  They are distressed, because they had been confident; they arrive there, only to be disappointed.
NAS:  "They were disappointed for they had trusted, They came there and were confounded.
KJV:  They were confounded because they had hoped; they came thither, and were ashamed.
GWT:  They are ashamed because they relied on the streams. Arriving there, they are disappointed.
ASV:  They were put to shame because they had hoped; They came thither, and were confounded.
BBE:  They were put to shame because of their hope; they came and their hope was gone.
DBY:  They are ashamed at their hope; they come thither, and are confounded.
DRB:  They are confounded, because I have hoped: they are come also even unto me, and are covered with shame.
