Romans 9:18

NIV: Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

NAS: So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.

KJV: Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

GWT: Therefore, if God wants to be kind to anyone, he will be. If he wants to make someone stubborn, he will.
