NIV:  But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD.
NAS:  But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, "Give us a king to judge us." And Samuel prayed to the LORD.
KJV:  But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
GWT:  But Samuel considered it wrong for them to request a king to judge them. So Samuel prayed to the LORD.
ASV:  But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto Jehovah.
