NIV:  They reeled and staggered like drunkards; they were at their wits' end.
NAS:  They reeled and staggered like a drunken man, And were at their wits' end.
KJV:  They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.
GWT:  They reeled and staggered like drunks, and all their skills as sailors became useless.
